Kuta Lagoon Resort & Pool Villa, reviewed June 20, 2013 by bulaCbacumba

Just returned from 1 wk in Bali. I've been there a number of times previously but my husband's first visit so I wanted somewhere central that we could just step outside and go. We had a deal come through with viva holidays on the net and decided to take it the wk before we left - nothing like a last minute escape. We chose a private pool villa which was truly special. I've stayed in quite alot of hotels - including villas over the years and for my husband's first visit, was a great start to hopefully many future visits for him.
All staff were lovely, always friendly and most welcoming and ready to accommodate any requests. We had easy check-in and check-out. Only a few small negatives. Would appreciate a normal kettle in the room and a bit more selection at breakfast i.e. yoghurts and museli/porridge. Shower pressure was pretty low and hot water not readily available particularly in the mornings no doubt due to busy period of hotel/guests consumption.
There's a little store at the entrance to the hotel which was great for basic supplies. Small bottles of water were complimentary each day in our room. Free wi-fi was available in outside common area near the pool/bar restaurant. That area could probably do with some music being played over speakers just to create bit more atmosphere. We enjoyed Friday night live entertainment (our arrival night) with solo guitarist playing requests - was nice way to unwind and settle in.
The rooms with pool access looked like a great novel idea - would definitely be fun with a bunch of friends/family - great way to wake up or cool down. The complex isn't huge which was a nice change. We often would walk to the right out of the hotel onto Jalan Legian and then head down the lane next to Bamboo Blonde - this takes you out onto Kuta Beach and we would make a left and head to the new Beachwalk Bali shopping - great for afternoon drinks and heading to the beach for sunset and watching some local soccer and general fun on the beach.
We ate at a few restuarants nearby as well as taking hubby to all my favourites around the area. Had a lovely foot massage on our last day at Spa Bali across the road. There's a Starbucks on Jalan Legian - once again make a right turn out of the hotel complex and 200 metres or so down on other side of the road. There's loads to do on that road - shopping/restaurants/lanes to get you places (Poppies 1 and 2). The hotel is in a great location - in the middle between Tuban/Kuta and Seminyak. It's pretty much the start of Legian. We walked back from Seminyak Square shopping (nice gelato there and great stores to check out on the walk back) to our hotel. Took quite awhile but was well worth it especially as my husband hasn't seen the area before - was a great way for him to experience it.
Thanks to all at the hotel for a wonderful visit - very special

Room Tip: We had Private Pool Villa 7 which was truly lovely
